
SILCHAR: Silchar is set to witness a momentous occasion as Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, is scheduled to visit the town on March 18, Tuesday, for a series of significant events. His visit will mark a day of historical importance, cultural reverence, and infrastructural advancements, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the development of Barak Valley.
The Chief Minister will arrive at Silchar Airport at 8:00am, commencing a power-packed schedule. His first engagement will be at 9:25am at the centenary celebration and inauguration of the newly-built Universal Temple dedicated to Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa Deva. The temple, a symbol of spiritual harmony and devotion, stands as a testament to the region’s rich cultural and religious heritage. The grand celebration is expected to draw devotees and dignitaries alike, making it a remarkable milestone in the spiritual landscape of Silchar.
Following this, at 11:10am, CM Sarma will grace the golden jubilee programme of Desh Bhakta Tarun Ram Phukan Higher Secondary School. This prestigious institution has played a pivotal role in shaping the education sector in the region, and the Chief Minister’s presence at its 50-year celebration is anticipated to inspire students, faculty, and alumni. His visit to the school underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening the education system and honouring institutions that have contributed significantly to academic excellence.
Later in the day, CM, Dr. Sarma will proceed to S.M. Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar, where he will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Critical Care Block. This new facility is expected to enhance the hospital’s medical infrastructure, providing advanced healthcare services to the people of Barak Valley. The Chief Minister’s emphasis on improving healthcare facilities highlights the government’s vision of ensuring accessible and quality medical care for all. Additionally, he will also lay the foundation stone for the Silchar Circuit House virtually, further reinforcing the commitment to infrastructural growth in the region.
Concluding his visit, Chief Minister,Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will depart for New Delhi via Guwahati in the afternoon.
