KOKRAJHAR: On Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in several programmes and spent the night at the Bodoland Guest House, Bodofa Nagar in Kokrajhar, during his two-day visit to the district.

On the second day of his visit, the Chief Minister visited Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital accompanied by Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma and interacted with the authorities of the medical college. After understanding the shortcomings and complaints of Kokrajhar Medical College, the Chief Minister told the media that Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital needed hostels for doctors, quarters for nurses, and an MRI machine. He further said, “I have taken note of everything, and as much as possible, the issues will be resolved.”

Regarding the case of Dr Sujit Giri, a snakebite specialist, who reportedly wanted to resign from his post following an insult by a magistrate, the Chief Minister said that he would inquire into the matter. After completing his visit to Kokrajhar Medical College, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma returned to Guwahati.
