Chirang issued Section 144 CrPC to maintain peace and harmony during Holi

Kokrajhar: In a bid to maintain peace and harmony during the Holi/Dol Jatra, Karmadev Brahma, Additional District Magistrate, Chirang on Sunday issued restriction order under Section 144 Cr.PC in using and selling of unhygienic harmful toxic powder and other colour materials in entire Chirang district.

The district administration has imposed this prohibitory order to celebrate the Holi/Dol Jatra without causing any trouble. The order also warned residents of not violating this order as the violators may invite prosecution under Sec.188 of the IPC. However, in the order, it was stated that any persons aggrieved by this order may approach the district authority for exemption or alteration, etc. This order has come into force on March 8and will remain in force until further order.
