CM Himanta Biswa Sarma takes stock of preparations for PM's visit in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited Khanikar field in Dibrugarh to review the preparation in the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will adresss a public rally on April 28.

Talking to reporters, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Dibrugarh to inaugurate seven cancer hospitals in Assam. He will inaugurate a cancer hospital at AMCH and another six cancer hospitals will be virtually inaugurated. After the inauguration, he will address a public meeting at Khanikar field in Dibrugarh.

"PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate a 300-bedded cancer hospital in Dibrugarh which will provide treatment to patients who otherwise go outside Assam for treatment.

"Our BJP members are excited to see PM Modi. After last year's Assembly polls, he is coming to Assam. We are expecting people from all the neighbouring districts of Dibrugarh. Preparations are in full swing and our party members are working hard to make the programme success."

Sarma also visited Assam Medical College and Hospital to take stock of the Cancer Care Centre. Union Minister Rameswar Teli, State ministers Atul Bora, Ajanta Neog, Bimal Borah, Sanjay Kisan, MLAs Prasanta Phukan, Chakradhar Gogoi, Taranga Gogoi, Binod Hazarika, Rupesh Gowala, Teros Gowala, Suren Phukan, Punakon Baruah and other leaders and officers were present during his visit.
