JAMUGURIHAT: To pay due respect and homage to the iconic Assamese singer, Jayanta Hazarika, Jhankar, a socio-cultural organization of Jamugurihat, is set to organize a state-level song competition on Jayanta Hazarika’s songs on July 25 here, stated a press release. According to the release issued by Bani Das and Ritusmin Bhuyan, President and Secretary of the organization respectively, the competition will be held at the Baresohoriya project in two categories.
In category A, students from class I to VII can participate while in category B, students from class VIII onwards may join. The joining fees for category A is Rs 300 and for category B, the joining fees is Rs 400. Each three winners from each category will be awarded with a trophy, citation, and cash awards while the position holders up to 10 in each category will get trophies and citations. On the other hand, the fourth position holders of each category will be awarded with judges special prizes.
