Congress and ASDC to contest as allies in Dima Hasao

HAFLONG: The INC (Indian National Congress), Dima Hasao District Congress Committee and Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), Dima Hasao District Committee has agreed to work together in the ensuing Assam Assembly Election 2021 as allies.

This was announced by both the parties on Sunday.

Both the INC and the ASDC resolved to desist the force that tend to negate the autonomy of the Hills Autonomous Council and also feel that under the BJP regime there is a 'great threat' upon the Hills tribes living in Assam.

The Dima Hasao District Congress Committee and ASDC also reiterated to work for the implementation of Article 244 (A) i.e Autonomous State (a State within State of Assam provision) which is a long-pending demand of the hills people of Assam.
