GUWAHATI: Assam State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while attending a rally in Dibrugarh slammed the Badruddin Ajmal and Congress alliance.

The minister further stated that during the Congress regime in Assam what government means was "Lungi, Dhoti and Khuta".

During the Congress government their only scheme was- "Morning Lungi, Evening Dhoti and Khuti" but more than Dhoti and Khuta they thought more about Lungi...they woke up seeing a lungi and slept off thinking of lungi only."

Himanta Biswa Sarma also added that people remember how 500 years back, the Ram temple was attacked and demolished by cruel Invader Babur. People also remember that the historic Kamakhya temple of Assam was demolished by the commander of Sultan, Kalapahar and Botodrava Than, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev was claimed by Ajmal Vahini. 

Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that even after all this fact, Congress dares to say 'Save Assam' with Ajmal's AIUDF but Congress doesn't need to talk to about saving Assam because to save Assam, Narendra Modi and BJP is here. [Read Assam Election News]

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam polls are not about making someone chief minister, it is about saving the civilization of Assam as at one side there is Ajmal and on another side, there are icons like Sukapha, Lachit Borphukan and Srimanta Sankardev. 

On the other hand, all India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will visit Lakhimpur on Monday. Notably, the AICC general secretary will arrive in the poll-bound State with a two-day-long programme on Monday and Tuesday. She will fly to Lilabari Airport of Lakhimpur district from Guwahati at 10:30 am on Monday.

Then she will visit Sonari Gaon Panchayat under Lakhimpur LAC. It will be followed by her meeting with Assam Pradesh Congress Committee office bearers, District Congress Committee presidents, Block Congress Committee presidents, Mandal Congress Committee presidents, senior Congress leaders of the North Assam region.

She will also visit the birthplace of Shri Shri Madhadev at Letekupukhri under No. 109 Bihpuria LAC of the district and address a public rally there. Then she will depart to Gahpur of Biswanath district and take part in various public programmes organized in the district on Tuesday.
