Contraband capsules worth Rs 5 lakh seized, one held in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: On the basis of specific information, F/142 Bn, CRPF under command of AS Dhule, Assistant Commandant, Sector Commander –'D' Sector, along with police, recovered 50 kg (115 packets) of Sps-Phen+ capsules on Friday night.

As per report, the recovered contraband capsules are worth Rs 5 lakh. On Friday night, a joint search and naka operation duty in 'D' Sector DAB Merapani along the Assam-Nagaland border area was carried out. During the naka, a truck bearing registration number NL05-09-1836 was seized. The truck was moving from Jorhat to Wokha with the contraband capsules which were hidden below the goods/items.

The truck driver Tamizul Ali (35), son of Moina Ali, resident of Merapani forest block under PS Merapani was also arrested. The recovered contraband drugs and vehicle along with the accused were handed over to Merapani Police Station for further legal action.
