COVID-19 pandemic: People of Sadiya seek relaxation in lockdown after May 3

TINSUKIA: The Sadiya subdivision in Tinsukia district, being enlisted in green zone under COVID-19 pandemic, the people of this remotest and riverine part of Assam desire more relaxation in lockdown after May 3. For people of Sadiya it was a great relief after 32 Tablighi Jamaat-linked people of that area tested negative for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, in a press release issued by ADC-cum-SDO (Civil) Shymal Kshetra Gogoi, it was stated that to resist and contain aggressive pandemic, the Sadiya administration took all preventive measures enforcing lockdown guidelines at all levels which resulted in hassle-free law and order with active support of the subdivisional police. The government’s order, news bulletins pertaining to COVID-19 have been regularly circulated to the public by SDPRO Sadiya.

All government offices have been reopened with 33 per cent attendance as per government order since April 21. Besides, permit for inter-district transport are being issued to interested people from April 25, the release stated.
