LAKHIMPUR: The COVID 19 pandemic situation continues to worsen in Lakhimpur district.

On Friday, altogether 175 COVID-19 cases were detected across the district. On the other hand, 155 people of the district tested positive for novel coronavirus infection as per RAT while one patient was detected as per RTPCR test on Saturday. The fresh cases were reported from North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital (3), Dhalpur BPHC (13), Bihpuriya BPHC (11), Naoboicha BPHC (68), Boginadi BPHC (30), Ghilamora BPHC (3), Dhakuakhana BPHC (8), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (15) and private Nursing Homes (4). On this day, the District Health Department conducted 6,008 RATs and registered 175.16 per cent achievement in conducting the RAT out of the targeted figure.

With these fresh patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases of the district has hiked to 15,081since April 4 of the last year. Out of them, 13,799 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals and home quarantine while 1,147 are active cases at present. On Saturday, 67 recovered patients were discharged from institutional isolation while 44 recovered patients were discharged from home isolation. On the other hand, a total of 237 children (under 18) have been affected by COVID-19 during the wave.
