COVID-19 positive person flees from the Biswanath College Quarantine Centre

BISWANATH CHARIALI: One Almin Sheikh who had tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday night, fled from the Biswanath College Quarantine Centre here in the wee hours on Thursday on the pretext of going to toilet.

This came to light when a 108 ambulance arrived at the quarantine centre to take the affected person to the hospital. Sheikh hailed from Murchidabad, West Bengal and stayed with two others in a rented house at Chatiya to ferry consumable goods in the nearby villages. Getting information, police reached the spot and started investigation. Sheikh's escape has created terror among the people in and around Biswanath Chariali.
