COVID awareness camp organised by 37 Assam Rifles in Silchar

SILCHAR: Covid awareness camp organised by 37 Assam Rifles was well timed and also well planned to arouse awareness among the tribal population to fight back the menacing second wave of Corona which is virtually taken in its jaw towns and villages across the country. The best way to keep the virus at bay is to strictly follow the mandated guidelines being telecast and broadcast through electronic media, besides columns after columns being written in local, regional and national newspapers with the single objective to educate and alert the people to get vaccinated and shun inhibitions about taking it. Medical experts opine those who take two doses of vaccines are safe even after being infected by the virus.

37 Assam Rifles has been a well known friendly force in northeast to stand by people in distress and provide them the necessary help to overcome. During the Covid wave first, its humanitarian gestures have been appreciated by all sections of people, tribal and non tribal. The awareness camp in question organised by Kadamtala Battalion of 37 Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ 21 Sector and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) in a cluster of villages combined in Kaimai of Tamenlong district on Wednesday was yet another drive to motivate tribal people to follow Covid protocol.

Besides educating them about the critical situation, guidelines and measures for preventive measures, they were also impressed to get vaccinated. They were furnished with the telephone numbers of medical staff for consultation. 150 villagers attended the awareness camp and expressed their satisfaction. Covid protocol was followed in holding the camp.
