COVID+ve patients deliver healthy babies at Diphu Medical College and Hospital

DIPHU: Two babies (both females) were born at Diphu Medical College and Hospital on Friday, stated a NHM press release.

The first baby was born to a 22-year HIV+ and COVID + mother. The baby girl weighed 2.8 kg. The baby is COVID negative and in good health. Her HIV status will be checked after a week.

The medical team comprised surgeon Dr.Manjit Nath, anesthetist Dr Ferdinand Bongrung, nurses Ritumoni Das and Laxmi Hazarika and technicians Pranjit Sharma and Bideswar Doley. The second baby was born to COVID positive patient, SR Das. The weight of the baby girl is 2.9 kg. The team included Dr Nishita Dutta, Dr PK Sarma (Anaesthesia) and nurses Rumi Boro and Rupali Hasnu.
