Credit outreach programme: Rs 70.17 crore disbursed by all banks in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: As per direction from Department of Financial Service of Ministry of Finance, Government of India and instruction from State Level Bankers Committee, a customer credit outreach programme was organized by Lead District Manager Sonitpur at the auditorium of District Library, with the aim of extending financial services and extend credit growth, improve penetration into the social security schemes and encourage digital banking among the public.
The camp was inaugurated by ADC (Dev) and i/c DC Romy Baruah in presence of MLA Tezpur Prithiraj Rabha, Superintendent of Police, Dr. Dhananjay Ghanawat, CEO, Sonitpur Zilla Parishad Diganta Baishya, district administration officials and participating banks. Various stalls were set up by all banks including NRLM ,NULM ,DI&CC for creating financial awareness among public displaying financial products. Sanction letters were distributed among beneficiaries from different banks by dignitaries present on the occasion. During the outreach programme of the festive season in the month October, a total amount of Rs 70.17 crore loan was sanctioned by all banks in Sonitpur district to a total of 1191 beneficiaries.
