CRPF jawan robbed off a bag containing Rs 3 lakh cash

KALAIGAON: In a broad daylight robbery which has created sensation and fear-psychosis among the people of Udalguri district, a CRPF jawan, identified as Ramesh Deka (31), was robbed off a bag containing Rs 3 lakh cash in the heart of Kalaigaon town in Udalguri district. The victim and his wife had withdrawn the amount from SBI Mangaldai branch and they were on the way back home in Kalaigaon. They stopped to buy some items when two bike-borne youths broke open the scooter’s storage box and fled with the bag. The victim lodged an FIR at Kalaigaon PS, following which police launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
