Darrang chapter of Assam Lead Bank to organize Credit Outreach Programme
The Darrang chapter of the Office of Assam Lead Bank is scheduled to organize a “Credit Outreach Programme” at the auditorium of District Library on October 28 at 10.30am.

MANGALDAI: The Darrang chapter of the Office of Assam Lead Bank is scheduled to organize a "Credit Outreach Programme" at the auditorium of District Library on October 28 at 10.30am.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Bishnu Pada Karmakar, Lead District Manager, Darrang, said, "As per direction from Department of Financial Services and instruction from State Level Bankers Committee, we (the Darrang chapter of Lead Bankers Committee) are going to organise a credit outreach programme on October 28 with the aim of extending financial services and extend credit growth, improve penetration into the social security schemes and encourage digital banking among the public."
"We, therefore, request the residents of Darrang district to make full use of the upcoming event and help us make our district one of the most financially penetrated one in the State," Karmakar added.
The State Level bankers Committee has instructed each of its district-level offices to organize such outreach events and each district will be holding such events at a time and date of its convenience. The Department of Financial Services under Ministry of Finance has been taking many measures to ensure that every person, specially those in the rural areas, develop a basic understanding of digital banking, financial literacy, among others, so that schemes such as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), etc, can reach the intended population with efficiency and speed.
