Darrang Deputy Commissioner Prabhati Thaosen Transferred

MANGALDAI: In the massive reshuffle made in the State administration on November 3, the State government has transferred the Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, Pranab Kumar Sarma as the Deputy Commissioner of Darrang while Darrang Deputy Commissioner Prabhati Thaosen has been transferred and posted as the secretary in Border Protection & Development and Tourism. Prabhati Thaosen had joined Darrang district as the Deputy Commissioner on May 19 only.
Significantly on November 1, Sipajhar legislator Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi, who is also a member of 'Project Gorukhuti', in an interview with the media had expressed his utter displeasure over the functioning of Deputy Commissioner Prabhati Thaosen. Legislator Rajbongshi accused her of total failure in tackling the unfortunate Gorukhuti incident during the eviction drive on September 23 and also for not giving priority to the 'Project Gorukhuti' which is a dream project of the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. It has been alleged that she has not made a single visit to Gorukhuti and Dhalpur area to supervise and monitor the progress and development of 'Project Gorukhuti' since the last one month.
Earlier, the State government, taking a serious note of the charge of negligence of duty during the eviction drive and its aftermath, had transferred the Circle Officer of Sipajhar Revenue Circle, Deba Jyoti Gogoi and the Officer in-charge of Sipajhar Police Station, Inspector Sushil Dutta with immediate effect and posted Kamaljeet Sarma as the Circle Officer of Sipajhar Revenue Circle and Inspector Niranjan Barua as the Officer in-charge of Sipajhar Police Station, who earlier had rendered their sincere service in Darrang district.
On the other hand, in the same notification issued by the Personnel (A) Department on November 3, the State Government has transferred Additional Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi, Vivek Shyam Pangyok and posted him as Additional Deputy Commissioner in Darrang.
