DC of Lakhimpur, Dr. Jeevan B notified shelter centre for homeless people, migrant labourers

LAKHIMPUR: The Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur, Dr. Jeevan B, by an order, notified Sankardev Mahavidyalaya located at Pathalipahar of the district as shelter place-cum-relief camp for homeless people and migrant labourers stranded due to the ongoing lockdown.

In this connection, Tanka Dutta, the librarian of the educational institution, has been designated as the officer-in-charge of the centre. He can be contacted on his mobile number 7576018107, stated a press release.

Further, the same press release stated that the DC directed nine petrol pumps of the district to keep open their services 24x7 hours with shift wise duty of their staff by maintaining hygiene and social distancing with minimal staff to meet the demand for fuel for various emergency duties of government officers engaged on duty and transport services in connection with COVID-19. These petrol pumps are- M/s Dipak Service Station, Charaimaria, M/s Mahabir Automobile, Bantow, M/s Brahmaputra Refilling, CD Road North Lakhimpur, M/s NRL Petrol Pump, Bantow, M/s BK Filling Station, Bongalmora, M/s Mohabox Malchand, Bihpuriya, M/s Juri Refilling Station, Narayanpur, Ghilamora KSK, Ghilamora and M/s Habung Filling Station, Dhakuakhana.

Moreover, to meet the demand of chira (flattened rice) and muri, two chira mills of the district, viz, Sree Durga Chira and Muri Mill, Maidamia and M/s Riddhi Foods, Choukham, Saboti are allowed to operate their mills and to distribute chira and muri to retailers as per requirement furnished by them.

In pursuance of adhoc allotment of SK oil for the month of April, May and June by Director of Civil Suppliers and Consumer Affairs, Government of Assam, the Lakhimpur DC, by another order, directed six SK oil agents to lift a total of 384KL, 396KL and 384KL SK oil in the months of April, May and June respectively from the storage depot of Indian Oil Corporation Limited within the 23rd of each month on payment of rate fixed by the government and as per usual terms and conditions. These six SK oil agents of IOC are- M/s Khagen Baruah SK Oil Depot, Dhalpur, M/s Bidyeswar Deori SK Oil Depot, Bongalmora, M/s RR & Co. Private Ltd, North Lakhimpur, M/s Dulen Baruah SK Oil Depot, North Lakhimpur and Manik Gayan SK Oil Depot, North Lakhimpur.
