MORIGAON: Due to deficient rainfall, the farmers of Morigaon district, along with those from Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Dhubri, Baksa, and Bongaigaon are facing a huge crisis as their agricultural lands are under a drought-like situation. The deficient rainfall has caused a serious concern among the farmers in Silsaku, Baghara, and other villages. Tulsi Deka ,a farmer of Silsaku said that the irrigation department had launched a few schemes many years ago but they are defunct due to apathy of the government.
