Demand for setting up APDCL subdivision office at Harangajao in Haflong

Haflong: The people of Harangajao have been suffering since long due to frequent power failure while the authority concerned has been allegedly indifferent to people's woes.

There was an office earlier with sufficient staff but as time passed, the number of staff and the infrastructure was reduced even though there was significant increase in the number of consumers. Moreover, Harangajao has now been declared a town with the establishment of town committee.

Considering the plight of the people of Harangajao, the Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Amendu Hojai, who is also the local MAC, has initiated to allot a plot of land to APDCL at Haranagajao for installation of bigger transformer and subdivision office with accommodation of staff so that there is no power failure.

He has expressed hope that once the office is established on the new plot of land, people will get respite from frequent power failure. He also informed that he had been taking steps for immediate establishment of APDCL subdivision office because it was the only solution to the frequent power failure problem at Harangajao. The people of Harangajao have demanded that a subdivisional office with sufficient staff should be established at Harangajao soon as the NCHAC had allotted a huge plot of land to APDCL.
