TINSUKIA: Kakopathar Press Club, in association with Kakopathar Anchalik Students' Union, observed two-hour sit-in at Kakopathar on Friday demanding to resolve various issues pertaining to Kakopathar daily bazar and weekly market.

Bijoy Dutta, president of Kakopathar Press Club, told media persons that the Press Club on July 13 and July 26, and the Kakopathar Anchalik Students' Union, submitted memoranda to the Circle Officer on various issues, besides problems arising out Kakopathar Daily Bazar and weekly market but the authority allegedly ignored their grievances compelling them to stage sit-in jointly on Friday. Their demands included disposal of garbage and proper drainage, opening of multipurpose block, store house and toilet, eviction from allotted land and infrastructural development in the market and placement of unemployed youths after planned construction of shops inside the market.
