Demand to revive paper mills, release pending salary by Kagaj Nigam Karmi Union

JAGIROAD: The Kagaj Nigam Karmi Union (KNKU) of Nagaon Paper Mill on Wednesday staged protest in front of the main gate of the mill. The protest was staged in support of the call of the All India Trade Congress against the ‘anti-labour’ policy of the Central Government. The KNKU urged the Central and State governments to revive both the Nagaon Paper Mill and Cachar Paper Mill at the earliest and to release the monthly salary of the employees pending since the last 22 months. The employees also criticized the Central and State governments for their failure in reviving both the paper mills and threatened of drastic consequences in the Lok Sabha election.
