DEMOW: The 56th foundation day of Demow College was organized in the college premises on Saturday. As per the schedule, the programme started with flag hoisting after which an open session was organized in the conference hall, where Dr Krishna Jyoti Handique, Principal of Demow College, presided. Pabitra Gogoi, Vice-Principal of Demow College, spoke about the objectives of the meeting while Bhim Dehingia, President of the administrative committee of Demow College, lit the earthen lamp and gave the welcome speech. Dr Bijit Borah, SDM&HO, and Akhim Baishya were present as guests.

Mohendra Dutta, former In-Charge Principal of Demow College, Dr Bipul Gogoi, former Vice-Principal of Demow College, and Biren Barua, retired Professor of Demow College, spoke on the occasion.

4 meritorious students of the Sociology department and 2 meritorious students of the History department, who performed well in the Bachelor of Arts Examination this year were felicitated. 2 netball players of the college who showed good performance at the national level were also felicitated. In the programme, Bichitra Barua, Dr Ranu Gogoi, Dr Prafulla Hazarika, and Kusum Handique, retired professors of Demow College, Dulu Konwar, retired Head Assistant of Demow College, Dr Akhil Das, doctor in Khongea tea estate, Pallabi Khanikar Borgohain, Vice-Principal of Swarna Bidyapith Senior Secondary School, along with other dignitaries, were present.
