Department of Botany, Gauhati University to celebrate Platinum Jubilee Celebration

GUWAHATI: The Department of Botany, Gauhati University is going to celebrate platinum jubilee with the completion of 75 years glorious existence in service to the development and welfare of the region as well as the country. In celebration of this great event, a year-long program has been organized by the department in the form of various affairs.

Dr Hitendra Kumar Baruah, a Ph.D. from Cambridge University in pre Independence days was the founder Prof. of the depth who later on became the Dean Faculty of science G.U. and was also the Vice chancellor of the university in the seventies of the last century. On behalf of the Department and Organizing committee, Prof. (Dr.) Bhaben Tanti, Head of the Department cordially requested all the research scholars, alumni, and all those who are associated with this department in this long journey, for their presence to the said meeting arranged on November 1 at B.K. Baruah Auditorium from 10 am onwards with a day long programme, stated a press release.
