Dhakuakhana police arrested three for burning BJP, AGP offices during anti-CAA stir

LAKHIMPUR: Dhakuakhana police arrested three persons accused of setting the BJP and AGP offices to fire during the anti-CAA agitation on December 12. They were arrested in the wee hours on December 31 after launching an operation in different places. They were identified as Bidya Borah (25), Hirumoni Koch (21) of Jiamoria village and Jatin Gogoi (18) of Town Tiniali.

Notably, two separate cases vide No. 183/2019 and No. 185/2019 against a total of 12 persons, including the three arrested, were registered at Dhakuakhana Police Station regarding the burning of the offices concerned. Lakhimpur ASP (Security) Pranab Kumar Pegu stated that the rest accused involved in the two separate cases would also be arrested very soon.
