Dhubri DC apprises media of ongoing development works and COVID situation

DHUBRI: Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anbamuthan MP addressed media persons and appraised them about ongoing development works and new initiatives on COVID-19 at his office conference hall recently. This was the DC's first interaction with media persons since he joined Dhubri last month. While pointing out to major development works, he informed that the construction works of Dhubri Medical College and Hospital would hopefully be completed in the coming six months. In the meantime, senior State health officials visited the construction and took stock of progress, he added.

On the unfolding corruption in the various departments, Anbamuthan M P said that a district-level anti-corruption team would be constituted which would investigate into alleged corruption and action would be taken if any official or any other was found involved.

He further informed that Dhubri was going to have a separate lab for COVID-19 (RTPCR) test centre soon. The Assam Health Department approved a separate lab for COVID-19 (RTPCR) test and when this was communicated to Dhubri district administration. Construction work had started and was going on in full swing on the top floor of the Dhubri District Drug Store and Ware House located in the premises of Dhubri Civil Hospital, he further informed.

On controlling the further spread of COVID-19, he said that a village level para-medical team with ASHA activists under six health blocks was being formed. The medical team would visit door-to-door in the villages and would be enquiring and collecting information about asymptomatic and symptomatic corona patients and other ailing family members, and if necessary a team led by doctors would visit and provide medical facilities, he further informed.

He also said that there was sufficient stock of vaccine in the district and an online Tele Consultancy and Grievance Redressal Cells had been opened in the six health blocks for corona patients and related information, while online registration for vaccination for tea garden workers was also being conducted.

Meanwhile, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner visited Dhubri Civil Hospital and other health centres of Dhubri district last week and instructed the district health officials to get ready 10 more beds with all facilities for COVID-19 patients in Dhubri Civil Hospital.
