Dhubri Power Grid members hail improvement in power sector

DHUBRI: Dhubri Power Grid Committee members formed by Dhubri APDCL (Dhubri Sub-Division Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited), hailed the considerable improvement in the power sector in this subdivision.

All the members praised the works done in the last five years in the meeting held in the office premises of Dhubri APDCL Subdivision at Garikhana Road recently. At the onset of the meeting, Dhubri APDCL, SDO, Rakesh Kumar Saha welcomed the Grid Committee members and briefly explained the objective of forming of committee. Saha said that since APDCL was rendering of the most important services, its performance depended on the cooperation and support from key persons of the society and keeping this in view, APDCL formed the committee in all the district and sub-divisional level in order to improve the quality of service.

Speaking in the meeting, Principal of Bholanath College, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty, while praising the performance in power supply, said that still there were some areas which needed improvement. "During floods, power supply remains cut off. So APDCL should seriously think about some other source of alternative energy like solar," Dr Chakrabortty said.

Addressing the meeting, former Dhubri district BJP president, Dipak Kumar Saha also praised the works done by SDO, Champak Mishra and encouraged all concerned to keep the momentum going to provide better service to the consumers.

While concluding, SDO Saha spoke on the initiative taken for installation of solar energy for urban and rural electrification, prepaid system, increasing revenue generation compared to what it was five years ago and infrastructural development in the Dhubri subsivision.
