Diamond jubilee celebration of Golmagaon High School

UDALGURI: A national integration was shown in the cultural dances during the diamond jubilee celebration of Golmagaon High School. The students of the school have shown an assimilation of cultures by demonstrating dances of Bihu, Nepali, Rabha, Bodo, Bengali and Adivasi in one platform. The people have praised the efforts of teachers and students of the school. A colourful procession was brought out in Udalguri town and all community people have cooperated with the school committee showing solidarity with them.
The open session was inaugurated by Dr. Harendranath Moran, the assistant professor of Darrang College and also an environmentalist. He urged the people to protect nature and plant tree saplings. Thaneswar Malakar the retired commissioner has released the souvenir 'Bodhidroom' published to mark the celebration. He was delighted to watch the unprecedented unity among the communities seen in the programme. Kamal Prasad Upadhyaya, the headmaster of the school has welcomed all the guests and audience to the celebration. Gobinda Chandra Basumatari, the Udalguri MLA and the president of the Diamond Jubilee celebration presided over the meeting. Madhav Chetry, the MCLA of BTC also spoke on that occasion.
