Dibrugarh District Sports Association holds meet on centenary celebrations

Dibrugarh: The programme of the closing ceremony of the last level of the centenary celebrations of Dibrugarh District Sports Association was revealed by the President of DDSA, Dr. Debojit Dutta and General Secretary, Niranjan Saikia at a press conference held recently. Dutta, during the meet, gave a brief account of the various developmental activities held under the auspices of DDSA so far since its inception. He also looked forward to receiving support from various quarters in the planned closing ceremony. Saikia highlighted the current status of the organization and also the infrastructural aspect of it. He also talked about the schedule slated for the closing ceremony. It was informed that as part of the opening programme of the centenary celebrations, the prestigious Bordoloi Trophy was organized, apart from football, volleyball, badminton and table tennis competitions. The organization will organize a half-marathon race on an all Assam level on July 21, which will also be a part of the celebrations that would conclude on December 14 and 15. Under the auspices of DDSA, football matches will also be held in 93 villages of the district situated across 7 blocks. The organizers of each of the Panchayats will be assisted by DDSA in terms of football, goal net and money.
