Dima Hasao Police solve Phainsoda Nunisa kidnapping case

Haflong: After a concerted marathon operation, the Dima Hasao Police solved the Phainsoda Nunisa kidnapping case and arrested three prime accused from various parts of Dima Hasao and also recovered some ammunition of M 16, army uniform and blankets, stated Superintendent of Police Prashanta Saikia at a press briefing held in his office on Monday.

Phainsoda Nunisa, the father of Pobitra Nunisa of Waju village, was kidnapped on November 29 by some armed miscreants for ransom. The kidnappers had hired a Maruti Eco van from Mahur under the pretext of ferrying an aged patient from Khepre but after reaching Hajong, they threatening the driver with gun and kidnapped Nunisa.

The SP said that with the efforts of all the police stations of Dima Hasao and of course the active cooperation of the people, this kidnapping case could be solved. Answering the questions of the media persons, he said there were possibilities to arrest more accused persons and hoped to soon bring to book all those involved in the kidnapping. He further assured that the kidnapping was not the handiwork of any insurgent group. The arrested persons are Moitush Thaosen, Diponjoy Jarambusa and Pritish Thaosen.
