Dima Hasao TMC Demands Electrification Of All Villages

HAFLONG: The Dima Hasao TMC team led by president Aching Zeme and general secretary Satminthang Khongsai, met Deputy General Manager, APDCL, KANCH Electrical Circle, Palsah Jyoti Mahanta at Diphu, Karbi Anglong and submitted a memorandum on the ongoing rural electrification work in Dima Hasao District on Friday .

The memorandum maintained that even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared in 2018 that all the villages in India had been electrified, many villages of Dima Hasao were still languishing in darkness.

Dima Hasao TMC demanded that all villages should be electrified at the earliest. They also urged the DGM, who is also the Chief Executive Officer, to investigate alleged malpractices carried out in supply and installation of off-grid solar power in Dima Hasao. They also demanded that if the contractor was unable to execute the work on due time, the work permit should be cancelled and allotted to some other capable firm which can execute the work on time without corrupt practices.
