DISHA Committee Meeting held in Biswanath Chariali

Biswanath Chariali: The first meeting of the newly-constituted Biswanath District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Biswanath Chariali on Tuesday with Member of Parliament Pallab Lochan Das in the chair.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP urged the officers of all departments to work with dedication for the welfare of all sections of people and laid stress on time-bound implementation of schemes. He also urged the officers to keep close liaison with the local MP, MLAs and PRI members while selecting the schemes as well as beneficiaries in their respective jurisdiction.

Initiating the meeting, Biswanath DC and member secretary of DISHA, Pabitra Ram Khound gave a brief account of the status of various schemes in the district. Cabinet Minister of Handloom and Textliles, Sericulture-cum-MLA of Behali LAC, Ranjit Dutta, MLA of Biswanath, Pramod Barthakur and MLA of Gohpur, Utpal Bora also urged the officers to keep in touch with them regarding any issues of public interest.

The meeting elaborately reviewed the status of various schemes like four-laning of NH-15, PWD (State Roads, Rural Roads, NH and Building), Prime Minister’s flagship programmes, Social Security schemes, Poshan, Jan-Dhan Yojana, PMSBY, PMJJY, PMAY-G, MGNREGA, National Rural Livelihood Mission, PMGSY, NSAP, Education, teacher-student ratio, school infrastructure, Mid-day Meal, PDS, CMSGUY, KCC, Fisheries, ICDS, PHE, Swachh Bharat Mission, roads and bridges, irrigation and agricultural schemes implemented in Biswanath district.
