District Child Protection Unit Sonitpur organized one-day orientation programme

TEZPUR: A one-day orientation programme for the members and stakeholders on Block level/ Village Level and Ward-level committee formation was held on Wednesday at the District Library auditorium. The programme was organized by District Child Protection Unit, Sonitpur. The programme witnessed participation from panchayats and seven development blocks of Dhekiajuli, Naduar, Borsola, Bihaguri, Gabharu, Rangapara and Balipara in Sonitpur district. Officials from Labour, Education and members of civil society organizations attended the programme.

Eminent resource person Krishnamoni Bordoloi, Visiting Faculty of Child Rights, Tezpur University and Abha Borah, advocate and legal counsel of District Legal Service Authority, Sonitpur shared their views with introspection on various child rights committee formation and laws governing child protection. The programme ended with a positive note with comments from the participants to usher in a new path towards protection of the rights of every child.
