District-level workshop on basic principles of science held at Biswanath Chariali
A district-level students’ workshop on hands-on learning of basic principles of science was held on December 25 at Akash Science and Environment Education Centre, Biswanath Chariali.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A district-level students' workshop on hands-on learning of basic principles of science was held on December 25 at Akash Science and Environment Education Centre, Biswanath Chariali. This was a part of the 'Project Protsahan' of the science centre organized to encourage and inspire the school students of the State to learn science through innovative methods and nurture scientific temper. More than 40 students from 10 schools of Biswanath district participated in the workshop.
The training was imparted by Prof Kshiradhar Baruah, a popular science writer and national prize winner for Science Communication, and founder president of the Science Centre and Ripunjay Bordoloi, a noted science communicator, assisted by Preety Baruah and Mamud Ahmed.
At the beginning, Prof Baruah presented a brief but interesting popular talk on 'One Year of James Web Space Telescope in Space'. In the concluding function, Jyotishka Preetam Borah, a Class VI student participant from Morning Star School, Boragabari, was felicitated for his success in the 30th Childrens' Science Congress held in Tezpur and selection for the National level Childrens' Science Congress.
The workshop was also attended by Prof Ramen Bora, Vice Principal of Behali College, Neelam Sarma (guide teacher of the selected NCSC project), Malabika Borthakur and Lukumoni Bora.
