Doomdooma Police arrested Co-accused in kidnapping & murder of trader

TINSUKIA: Doomdooma Police, after a long pursuit, arrested a co-accused murderer, Madhu Tasa from Chowkham in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lohit district who was involved in the kidnapping and subsequent brutal killing of a trader of Doomdooma in 2019.

According to police, Prasenjit Guha, a small trader, was kidnapped by two miscreants from Doomdooma town. Police recovered the body of Prasanjit with his face disfigured from a paddy field in Tingai under Digboi PS.

While his bike was traced at Tongona under Kakopathar PS, his cell phone was recovered from Margherita. Though one accused Kishan Koiya was immediately arrested and sent to jail, his other accomplice Madhu Tasa fled to Arunachal Pradesh.

A Doomdooma police team led by Monimohan Koch officer-in-charge finally nabbed Tasa from a tea garden in Chowkham where he was engaged in a job. It is quite intriguing to note that though the incident took place under Doomdooma PS, the culprits’ modus operandi was established in three other police stations in Tinsukia district, namely Digboi, Kakopathar and Margherita, besides Chow-kham in Arunachal Pradesh.
