Doomdooma Police nabbed two dacoits in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Doomdooma Police led by officer-in-charge Moni Mohan Koch nabbed two dacoits-Monojit Moran of Kordoiguri and Ripunjay Duwara of Borguri Tinsukia on Friday night who robbed Jayprakash Shah at gunpoint, the owner of a grocery shop located at Mankhowa TE line no.9. The duo fled with cash and mobile handset. The police, after a thorough search, arrested them with a hand-made pistol from Kordoiguri.

Two other loot incidents were also reported on Friday. Monoj Sarkar, an employee of renowned Woodland Works of Digboi, was robbed of Rs 3.85 lakh by two motorcycle-borne youths in broad daylight. According to reports, Sarkar withdrew Rs 1.20 lakh from the SBI Digboi branch and Rs 2.65 lakh from the Digboi branch of UBI.

In another incident, an employee of Axis Microfinance, Dhanish Moran was robbed of Rs 70,000 at Bordubi-Philobar Road under Doomdooma PS after three dacoits brandishing sharp weapon looted cash that was collected from SHGs as weekly deposits.
