SILCHAR: The distribution ceremony of scooties under the Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award of Pragyan Bharati Scheme was held on Tuesday at the auditorium of Gurucharan College in Silchar to distribute scooties among the meritorious girl students who secured first division and the boys who secured 75 percent in this year's HS examination.
Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty, Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha handed over the scooties to the students in the function organized by Cachar district administration.
Suklabaidya said, "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, entire Barak Valley had received tremendous developments in the field of education and gained importance in terms of infrastructure.
He further said that a lot of initiatives were taken up by the present government for the development of education. The Minister has also asked the students who received scooties to wear helmets and follow road safety. He also expressed hopes that the girls and boys who received the award would be inspired with the recognition given by the government and would excel in their studies and contribute towards nation building. Around 1,307 students from Cachar district have been found eligible to receive the award. Silchar legislator Dipayan Chakraborty said a lot of changes had been made in the present education system when the present government came into power one and half years ago.
"The present government has given a lot of importance to the education sector and education is the backbone of the nation and the importance of education in this regard is immense and such a groundbreaking decision is possible for this government," mentioned Dipayan .
"Our children have never lacked qualifications," maintaining this Chakrabarty said, there was a lack of opportunity and now the government had been creating opportunities.
Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha congratulated the awardees and wished them a bright future. DC Jha laid stress on the importance of healthy competition among students, he motivated the students by saying success always comes with hard work. Principal of Gurucharan College Silchar, Bibhas Dev explained the objectives of the programme and focused on Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award. Later, 11 students received scooties along with commendation certificates from Minister Suklabaidya and other dignitaries on the occasion.
GOLAGHAT: Under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme, altogether 1,197 meritorious students of Golaghat district will be given the Dr Bani Kanta Kakoty Merit Award on Wednesday. On this occasion, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Information technology of Assam Keshab Mahanta will be present as the chief guest at the distribution programme to be held at Debaraj Roy College conference hall.
DHUBRI: Ceremonial distribution of Dr. Banikanta Kakati Meritorious Award under Pragyan Bharati Scheme among the 886 students who secured 75 percent and above marks in the HS examination, was held in Bholanath College auditorium. On Tuesday, it was graced by PHE, skill development, tourism, and other officials, as well as Guardian Minister Jayanta Malla Barua. The minister inaugurated the distribution of scooty ceremony and handed over keys to 13 students which would be continued in different locations of the district in phase manners in coming days. " With this award, it is hoped that the students will excel in the education, build their career in the different fields and serve the nation," Barua said.
