Dr Bhaskar Gupta appointed as a new Silchar Medical College and Hospital principal

SILCHAR: Dr Bhaskar Gupta is the new Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, as his predecessor Dr. Babul Bezbaruah has been transferred to the newly-inaugurated Nalbari Medical College and Hospital. Dr. Gupta was previously the Superintendent of the SMCH. Dr. Bezbaruah, who joined the SMCH in 2018 and led his team from the front during the pandemic, handed over the charge to Dr. Gupta of Wednesday. Dr Abhijit Swamy would be the new vice principal while Dr Biswadeep Choudhury would be the new Superintendent. During the five-year tenure of Dr Bezbaruah, the premiere medical institute, the SMCH had seen massive infrastructure development.
