Dr. Gambaru Mushahary feted by various organizations at Bathoupuri

LAKHIMPUR: The United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO), All Bodo Women Welfare Federation (ABWWF) and Bodo Harimu Afad have accorded warm felicitation to Dr. Gambaru Mushahary for achieving the honorary Doctorate Degree from St. Mother Teresa University. Gambaru Mushahary is the present chairperson of the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC), former ABSU leader, former teacher, and founder secretary of the UBPO.

Vice-Chancellor of St. Mother Teresa University (USA), Dr. R Vijoya Saraswati conferred on him the Doctorate Degree on March 24 at a programme organized by Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Award Films at Holiday Inn located at Mayur Vihar in New Delhi. The social activist has been awarded the degree for his appreciable contribution to the society and the educational sector.

In order to fete the achiever, a felicitation programme was organized by the three organizations at Bodo Sahitya Sabha Complex at Bathoupuri on Monday under the management of UBPO general secretary Pitambar Brahma. In the programme, Dr. Mushahary was feted with a bouquet of flowers, aronai by UBPO president Manoranjan Basumatary, general secretary Pitambar Brahma, adviser Bipin Goyari, chairman Badal Mushahary along with many office bearers and district committees of the organization. Similarly, ABWWF Kamrup (M) district unit vice-president Nirupama Basumatary, chairperson Nirupama Swargiyari, Guwahati Regional Committee Bodo Harimu Afad general secretary Nayan Khungur Bodo also felicitated Dr. Gambaru Mushahary.

Receiving the felicitation, Dr. Mushahary said that he had felt honoured for the recognition and appreciation for his contribution to the society. He added that this recognition would encourage him to serve the society with more enthusiasm in the future. Notably, Dr. Mushahary managed to rise from the grassroots level to a State-level social activist by working since 1987 till date with sincerity, devotion and dedication.
