DHUBRI: A drama on the life of Bir Lachit Barphukan by Dr Haricharan Das was jointly released formally by renowned artist Abdul Karim Khan and veteran journalist Dayal Paul at a simple function held in Bilasipara Public Library recently on the occasion of the 400th birth anniversary of the greatest warrior of Assam. This book has been published by Dhubri district committee of Axom Sanskritik Mahasabha and dedicated to all the martyrs of the Battle of Saraighat.
Beside releasing the book, a discussion on the life and fighting skills of Bir Lachit and recitation of self-composed poems were held, wherein Kumar Chakraborty, Sunil Kumar Saha, Dr Mojjamil Haque, Azad Sarkar and others participated. Dr Haricharan Das in his speech highlighted every sphere of Bir Lachit Barphukan's life, including the incidents of the Saraighat battle.
