Drug peddler sustains bullet injury while fleeing in Dhubri
A dreaded and most notorious drug peddler Rahul Prasad sustained bullet injuries while attempting to flee from the police custody at Kismathasda village of Dhubri district on Sunday.

DHUBRI: A dreaded and most notorious drug peddler Rahul Prasad sustained bullet injuries while attempting to flee from the police custody at Kismathasda village of Dhubri district on Sunday.
Rahul, a self-styled Bajrangdal leader, was arrested with drugs on Sunday night, but while the police were searching drugs kept hidden in the area, he made a desperate attempt to flee from the police custody. Police had to resort to firing to stop him and later he was admitted in Dhubri Civil Hospital, a police source informed.
Talking to The Sentinel, Officer-In-Charge of Dhubri Police Station (Sadar), Partha Pratim Gogoi informed that he was long been wanted in several drug peddling cases and on tip off, police arrested him yesterday with drugs.
"The drug peddler made an attempt to run away from police custody. Police had to resort to controlled firing to prevent him from fleeing. He was grievously injured,", Gogoi added. Gogoi further informed that Rahul was arrested twice before and gave details of previous case references (1) Dhubri P.S. C/no 1652/20 u/s 22(C) NDPS Act. (2) Dhubri PS C/no 366/21 U/s 22(C) NDPS Act.
