Hailakandi: Dry run on COVID-19 vaccination will be conducted on January 8 at three session sites.

A District Task Force meeting on COVID-19 vaccination was held at DC's conference hall chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner, Dahal urged the health officials and functionaries, Circle Officers and district officials to ensure that not a single health care worker is left out of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the first phase, which will later include police and security personnel and senior citizens.

Joint Director, Health Services, Dr. Ashotosh Barman and District Immunisation Officer, RKT Rangmei disclosed that 3,502 health workers, doctors, nurses, Anganwadi helpers, Anganwadi workers and ASHAs have enrolled online for the COVID-19 vaccination and that the number might increase in the next couple of days. They revealed that 15 numbers of places have been identified for storage of vaccines.

The meeting decided to form a task force for inspection of cold chain points in every revenue circle comprising Circle Officer as Chairman, BPHC Incharge as Member Secretary, officials from PWD, APDCL and other line departments as members for smooth and hassle-free dry run of COVID-19 vaccination. A vaccination team consisting of health officials, security officer and verifier will also be constituted to oversee the whole exercise.
