Educationist Ramakanta Baruah of Goalpara passes away

Goalpara: Ramakanta Baruah, former professor of Goalpara College, expired on Friday night in a private nursing home in Guwahati. He was in his 80s.

The veteran litterateur and social worker was popular as Rama Baruah Sir and was respected by people for his extremely decent behaviour. Hailing from Jorhat district, he passed his entire life post service in Goalpara town by serving the civic society.

On Saturday, his last rites were performed at the Nabagraha crematorium in Guwahati. His demise was condoled by several student, teacher, and literary organizations.

The teaching and non-teaching staff of Goalpara Girls’ College, where he served as honorary Principal, have also condoled his demise.
