Dibrugarh: The initiative of Pantaloons to start a mall here in Rangghar corner on Hanuman Singhania Road on September 20 received a jolt following the recovery of the body of an employee in the building. The deceased was later identified as Latu Gogoi of Barti village, Barbaruah.
Gogoi, who was 25 years old, recently joined Pantaloons. Dibrugarh Police sent the body to AMCH for post mortem on Saturday. Meanwhile, sensing foul play, Dibrugarh district committee of Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad, Asom demanded immediate arrest of the killer and stern punishment. The organization in a press communiqué asked Pantaloons to give Rs 20 lakh to the victim’s family as compensation. They also demanded that Pantaloons should offer a job to the victim’s wife and help her to maintain her child and family. Failing to do so, the organization has threatened to protest against Pantaloons.
