Executive Engineer, NRRDA official released from police custody

DIBRUGARH: Executive Engineer of PWD, Sonari, Bhupen Gogoi and National Quality Monitor of National Rural Road Development Agency (NRRDA), New Delhi, AK Srivastav, who were picked up by the Dibrugarh Police from a posh hotel here along with Rs 5 lakh in their possession, sources said, were set free in the morning from police custody due to "lack of adequate information and proof".

Police, according to sources, took both Gogoi and Srivastav to Sonari and had conducted search operation at the Sonari PWD office in the night and also in EE Bhupen Gogoi's residence at Chiringchapori here in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Police preferred to reserve their comment on the development. However, investigation is on.
