Executive meeting held of BAYM Demow Town Committee

DEMOW: An executive meeting of Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM), Demow Town Committee was held in Demow Public Library on Thursday.

Jadumoni Kalita, president of BAYM, Demow Town Committee, presided over the meeting and Jaan Barua, chief secretary of BAYM, Demow Town Committee, spoke about the aims in the meeting. Jadab Gogoi, president of BAYM, Sivasagar District Committee, Prabal Phukan and Bhadraj Buragohain, working presidents of BAYM, Demow Town Committee, along with other leaders were present and they broadly discussed about organizing Silpi Divas programme.

In the meeting under the leadership of Dipankar Chetia, former leader of Demow Regional Students' Union, 25 new members joined BAYM. The new members of BAYM were felicitated with a phulamgamosa by BAYM, Demow Town Committee. In the meeting it was decided that under the patronage of BAYM, Demow Town Committee and in association with the people of Demow, Silpi Divas would be observed. A proposal was made that in the cultural night programme of Silpi Divas, an artiste of Assam will be presented the Silpi Award by the BAYM, Demow Town Committee.
