GUWAHATI: In a sensational incident, a fake lady doctor, allegedly, looted over Rs. 20 lakh from two families in Tinsukia promising their children seats in the AIIMS for pursuing medical education.

According to reports, one Trisha Pegu, who once practiced medicine at the Swargadeo Si-ku-fa Hospital in Sivasagar producing bogus medical certificates, cheated Rubi Kutum of Tinsukia promising securing an MBBS seat for her daughter in the AIMS, New Delhi.

She took Rs. 20 lakh from the woman making the fake promise. Besides, she also took Rs. 6 lakh from a relative of the woman making a similar promise. The fake doctor has been traceless since after the fraud.

"She told me that she is a passed-out and AIIMs toper. So, she could secure two MBBS seats. We believed and gave her Rs. 20 lakh. One our realatives also paid Rs. 6 lakh. After that we could not contact her," Kutum said to media.

According to reports, the fraud lady also claimed to be a passed-out from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi while joing in the Swargadeo Si-Ku-fa Hospital, Sivasagar.

Earlier, she cheated a woman in Arunachal Pradesh. However, the police could arrest her after a complaint filed by the woman. The fake doctor also went to join in the AG Nursing Home, Jorhat as a resident doctor.
