Farmer dies due to drowning in Sivasagar district

GAURISAGAR: Susendra Gogoi (66), a cultivator of Changmai Chuk in Santjpur GP under Konwerpur Mouza in Sivasagar district died in the recent flood of Dorika River. According to report, on Tuesday morning the farmer went to Chitalia paddy field on a boat to cut grass for his livestock. But on the way back, he fell from the boat due to the heavy storm and drowned in the flood water. His body was recovered from the field on Wednesday. He is survived by a son, a daughter and a host of relatives.
