Fire guts several houses in Rangia Town
A devastating fire gutted several houses, shops and godowns of Rangia Town near Mrittunjay Shiv Temple on Thursday night. Eight fire tenders from Rangia, Baihata Chariali, Nalbari & Dimu controlled the fire after almost two hours.

RANGIA: A devastating fire gutted several houses, shops and godowns of Rangia Town near Mrittunjay Shiv Temple on Thursday night. Eight fire tenders from Rangia, Baihata Chariali, Nalbari & Dimu controlled the fire after almost two hours. The cause of the fire is not ascertained yet but either cracker or short circuit may be the cause of the fire. Clothes and household goods of crores of rupees were turned to ashes within a moment. According to the sources, the houses of retired teacher Prasannya Baishya, businessmen Narrayan Baishya, Amrit Baishya, godown of Atmaram Bajaj, Ramesh Bajaj and Kanailal Sikaria turned to ashes.
