Fish trader of Gaurisagar daily market dies of COVID-19 positive

GAURISAGAR: Budheswar Das (52), a resident of Naamdang village on the outskirts of Gaurisagar and a prominent fish trader of Gaurisagar daily market in Sivasagar district, died on Friday due to COVID-19.

According to family sources, he had been suffering from diarrhoea since Thursday night and his health condition deteriorated. On Friday morning, family members admitted him to Sivasagar Civil Hospital. He tested COVID-19 positive and was immediately admitted in the COVID ward but he breathed his last in the hospital.

Sivasagar district health department has made all arrangements for performing his last rites in his residential campus. He is survived by his wife, three sons, a daughter and a host of relatives. His demise has been widely mourned.
